I am sure you already know what backlinks are. But for those of you that don`t here is an explanation: backlinks are incoming links to your website. The number of backlinks pointing to your website is very important as it is connected to your page rank. They can determine the importance and popularity of your website. Synonyms for backlinks are incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

So how do you obtain backlinks to your site?

1.Reciprocal linking

Search for  sites that have similar content to yours and ask for a reciprocal link. You link to them and they link to you.

2. Forum signatures

Sign up for forums related to your content (if you own a golf site, sign up for a forum where golfers hang out). Every time you post on the forum, use your signature that is a direct link to your website. DO NOT SPAM members. Just participate in conversations with your signature link at the bottom. This is also very targeted traffic to your site.

3. Blog comments

Same as Forums. But as I said before, be sure not to spam. Your comments should always be relevant to the post.

4. Link exchange directories

Submit your website to reciprocal link exchange directories, in order to achieve higher rankings in search engines.

I receive lots of comments to my blog from pople who are here only to spam. Lately I started to edit their comments and remove their signatures as they lead to sites totally unrelated to Swomnet. I will continue with this practice in the future. The only signature links I will keep are those relevant to my site. One of the reasons for doing  that is a changed Google policy regarding spam. If your site has a lot of outgoing links not related to your page content, Google will drop your page rank as they assume your website to be a link farm/content farm.

Also, for all of you having mini-sites (sites with only 5-6 pages, built only to make affiliate sales or AdSense profit), Google is drastically dropping their rank lately. The reason for doing this is to improve search results.

As it appears, lots of people have complained to Google about mini sites that have a #1 rank in Google, but very poor quality content, so Google has decided to put a stop to that.

With that in mind, I suggest you concentrate on the quality of your site. It will take time but it will pay off.  The Rome wasn`t built in one day, but it is still there, attracting more and more people every day…..Keep that in mind.

Each day more and more people lose their jobs and the bills start to pile up. A house mortgage hangs over their heads, they start panicking and pretty soon they are desperate. Are you one of those people? And what can you do if you are desperate for money? First of all CALM DOWN and COOL YOUR HEAD. Take a long walk and relax. Things are never as desperate as they seem at first. There is always something we can do, but sometimes we don`t see the tree from the woods. After you have calmed down, think about the options you have. I will give you a couple of ideas for making money offline and online and you can start from there.

1. Organize a yard sale.

Go through your house and closets and weed everything out you don’t absolutely need. Most people have far too many things they never use and will never use again. Organize and price them in preparation for a large yard sale. Display your items as attractively as possible. Advertise everywhere you can with large, easy to see flyers. If you can afford it, post an ad in your local newspaper. A one day yard sale can often produce a significant amount of money. Also post the ad at Craigslist.com.

2. Sell anything you don’t need through e-bay.

Sell anything you don’t need through e-bay local online classified ads, craigslist etc. You could also have a garage sale if that’s possible and appropriate in your area.

3. Run a weekend sale for others.

There are loads of people who would love to have a yard sale, but don’t have time to tag all the items and set it up. Offer to do the work for them for a percentage of the sales, say 25% or so. You would organize the items, display them, and be there throughout the sale to collect money. This is another quick cash generator and it has long term potential.

4. Take back any recent large purchases you can.

Did you overspend on luxury items recently? Now’s, the time to return items to the store for which you still have the receipt. If you’re in a desperate situation, you’re not going to be able to make use of those luxury items anyway.

5. Deliver new vehicles to dealerships.

It’s not well known, but large specialty vehicles such as vans, limousines, and RV’s aren’t delivered to dealerships on a truck. They’re driven to dealerships by part time entrepreneurs like you. You’re paid by the mile and then given money for air transportation back home. Plus, there’s
no need for a commercial driver’s license, although some states require a chauffeur’s license which is obtained by passing a written test. This can be a relaxing way to generate cash relatively quickly.

6. Mow some lawns.

Yes, I know it’s low tech, but there’s a real demand for lawn care these days as people have little time to do it themselves. Find an attractive neighborhood and market your services door to door. You can get paid for this service the same day. Make flyers and put them everywhere you can. Remember, you can`t be a chooser in this situation. You need to do whatever it takes.

7. Wash some windows.

Find a janitor supply store in your area. Buy some squeegees, a brush and rags, a pail with rollers attached, and some ammonia and vinegar. Drive to your nearest outdoor mall and ask the first store if you can wash their windows. Offer to do so at a low price in order to establish some credibility. After completing the first store’s windows, move on to other stores. Mention that you washed windows in the first store and the owners were very pleased. This could turn into a business with employees, but, until then, it’s a good fast cash generator.

8. Play an instrument.

Do you play an instrument or sing? Visit some local restaurants and bars and see if you can entertain their customers for a few evenings. If they resist, offer to do it for a free meal the first night. You should be able to make some money via tips despite not getting paid. Who knows? This may lead to a long term gig.

9. Sell something inexpensive door-to-door to businesses.

Consider selling inexpensive items that businesses use everyday and frequently run out of such as pens, pencils, erasers etc. You should be able to get these items cheaply and sell them at an inexpensive price. Businesses will likely purchase some from you because the items are not costly and they want to be accommodating.

10. Be a guinea pig.

Yes, I know this is desperate. But then again, so are you, right? You can get paid to participate in medical studies testing out new drugs and treatments. Some of these studies pay fairly well, but may require frequent visits to a clinic or even an overnight hospitalization. One disadvantage is you may not get paid until the study is completed. If you’re desperate for money, make sure you sign up for a short study. Do an internet search for “paid medical studies”.

11. Donate plasma.

If you’re free of infectious diseases and are healthy, you can get paid to donate your plasma. This is a relatively quick and relaxing procedure, but does require a needle stick. You’ll relax in a comfortable chair and watch television or listen to music as your plasma is prepared and collected. You’ll receive immediate payment which varies by location.

12. Craigslist / Recycler .

Go to a website like Craigslist / Recycler and buy and sell stuff. You can make an extra $1,500 a month on a very part-time basis by finding good deals and then reselling them on the same websites!
Not the most efficient thing to do, for sure, but it just illustrates a point that people give away things of value all the time that can be resold either at a garage sale/flea market if you’re in an active town or online marketplaces like craigslist.

13. This is a twisted idea but IT WORKS and it cost ZERO to start.

1. Go to the popular FREE online Craigslist.org (publication)
2. Go to the category: For Sale – go to FREE (stuff)
3. People are giving away their stuff for free!
4. You simply go by and pick it up.
5. Bring it home – take pictures of it.
6. Create a classified ad in the correct category of Craigslist.org (it’s free!) –

and upload your pic of the item you’re selling.

7. Make sure to list your phone number – so the reader can quickly call

8. This is 1,000% profit – anyone can do it – no skills required. Rinse and repeat.

14. Special skills.

Do you have any special skills you can offer? Skills like article writing, designing, translating? Think hard about your skills. What are you good at? Depending on your skills offer them to the others. If you are good at writing, you can offer your skills at warrior forum. There is a special section on Warrior forum: Warriors for Hire. Go through it and offer to work. The other site you can go to is Fiverr.com. It is the place for people to share things they’re willing to do for $5. I know $5 doesn`t sound like too much, but if you are good at something, it will not be long before you hit $50/day….and that is $1500/month.

15. Make money online

This one is tricky if you need money RIGHT NOW. Because, no matter what you think it is not going to happen  RIGHT NOW.  It takes time and dedication (the only way you  can actually make it right now is if you offer services like I mentioned in  #14). Other than that, it takes at least a month to make money online.  AT LEAST.  So,  I will just post a list of various ways of making money online, and you can search the rest by yourself.

HOW TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE

1.     Become an affiliate for others

2.     Build your own website and earn money from Google AdSense

3.     Buy domain names cheap and sell them for a good price

4.     Build a good website and sell it on Flippa.com

5.     Build a membership website

6.     Write an e-book and sell it

7.     Be the middle man; for example: offer backlinking  service for a certain price. Find the same service cheaper (on fiverr.com) and take in the profit. (same goes for writing articles etc.)

Of course, all of the above (making money online) sound much easier than they actually are. If you don`t have any experience in online marketing, I suggest you make offline income first and start building online business when you don`t have to think about a roof over your head. Be creative. This could be a new start for you….if you don`t lose yourself in desperation.

As an internet marketer you probably do a heavy amount of copying and pasting. I know I sure do! I have tried a few varying techniques like having 3 notepads open and having the text highlighted and ready to go when I want to copy and paste something. Needless to say this is a VERY tedious task especially if you are marketing more than one product or service! So, with that said I have got to mention this nifty little tool I stumbled across. It is a dream for internet marketers and/or anyone who does a heavy amount of copying and pasting.

It is called XtraPaster. It is a FREE software program made by the AureoSoft Software Development Company. It has 36 slots where you can store text and it is organized with four different colors.

XtraPaster is extremely fast and easy to use. It has an interface that takes up very little screen space and can be used directly from the notification area of the taskbar (system tray or traybar).

Another handy feature of it is that it always stays on the top window which I find to be very, very useful!!

If you do a lot of copying and pasting I highly recommend you check this out! It has saved me oodles of time as I am sure it will save you time as well!

If you are serious about making money online in any way, shape or form (affiliate marketing, AdSense…) this is a list of 5 things you absolutely must have:

1. Domain name – you need to brand yourself and not others. If you are sending / paying for traffic to affiliate offers, why wouldn`t  you send it to your own domain?  GoDaddy is the one we use for all of our domain names, and they take Paypal but if you need one that takes Alert Pay, we recommend to go to XtraOrbit.

2. Hosting – you will need someone to host your site. We use KVC Hosting and TMZ Hosting .

3. Website – we use FREE blogs as our website. WordPress or Blogger are the best in our opinion because they get picked up by search engines very fast as long as you put quality content. If you know how to build a website yourself, just go for it. Or you can find somebody to do it for you at Freelancer.com.

4. Autoresponder - you need to build a list.  Best autoresponders out there:  GetResponse and AWeber.

5. Link (Url) Tracker – in order to be effective internet marketer you have to know where your hits and sales come from. It does little to no good to advertise on sites which produce no results.  We use bi.tly and one of our trackers at swomnet.

What is your daily routine when it comes to working online?  How much time do you spend actually working vs. “playing”? I lost a lot of time online before I made a step by step plan, a daily working routine for myself.  So here is what I do each day:

First I check my e-mail and my traffic/sales statistics. I usually advertise my landing page, or my blog – I don`t want to waste my time  building someone else`s  list. For Swom I used their landing page as it converted very well. I use FREE VIRAL TRAFFIC BAR links ALWAYS as they give me 3 times the hits (as I already mentioned).  Then I decide where will I advertise for a day (aside from safelists) -  I am changing my traffic sources each day. Depending on where I advertise I write either an article, blog, classified or an ad. I usually paste the same article or safelist e-mail in 2 separate notepads. One is a plain text and the other is a HTML code. Both of them are opened at the same time on my desktop and both of them are already selected (the text inside is selected) so all I have to do is copy the text and paste it to wherever I am advertising (ctrl+c , ctrl+v).  I open my Online Traffic Bible and I start posting. I post to at least 200 places/day.

Next thing I do is I Login to Swom. I check the posts, I reply to some and I interact with people for a while. Then I add about 100 connections (I request 100 connections)/day. I post to free Swommers and encourage them to UPGRADE.

I check my Twitter account, if I have something to say I tweet for a while….  Afterwords I write a blog (not every day,lol) – I have 3 blogs at this time so it would  really be too much for me to write on all 3 every day. Occasionally I send an e-mail to my opt in list and that is it for a day. Then I have fun:  I research new traffic sources, I sign up for free things and test them, I read e-books about online marketing, I watch marketing courses….play on Facebook… Swom.

Now we all know how much of a headache managing affiliate links, user names and passwords can be. There are a few options that you can do to keep all those user names and passwords in one place.

One way is to write down all your user names and passwords in a thick notebook. A little old school, nonetheless it is effective and you don’t have to worry about a computer crash, hackers, trojans or the like.

Another way is to use an automatic password manager like Roboform. Roboform is a password manager and web form filler that completely automates password entering and form filling. One computer license will set you back $29.95 with a second license at $9.95. They also have a free version that you can try out that will limit you to ten passwords after thirty days. Personally I have never tried Roboform but I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Other automated ones I have heard of include Claria and Gator. But I have also seen reports of those two installing vicious things on your computer and have been a pain to uninstall. So personally I would recommend staying away from those two.

One more automated password manager I am going to briefly mention is Login King. That one costs $39.95.  Seems to work similar as to Roboform.  If you have any other suggestions please feel free to comment.

You can also cut, copy,paste and write all your affiliate links and passwords into a text file or Microsoft Word document. While maybe not nearly as neat and slick as an automated program, it works!

After losing two computers for various reasons you can only imagine the nightmare of trying to remember hundreds of usernames and passwords for sites. Today I wanted to pay for something with my Papal account. I was declined. Now, I knew I have money in my Paypal account since I am selling Online Traffic Bible through both Paypal and Alert Pay. So I went to my account to check what is going on. Well guess what? Paypal changed their policy and now they hold your money for 21 days. 21 bloody days for what exactly? I worked for that money and I earned every penny. And they are earning interest off of it for 21 days. Now, to give you the better picture I am a member of one investing club and in 21 days I earned exactly $23 interest on my $84 investment.
